From the creative minds of Devyne Stephens and Playwright and Director Marc Raby comes the exciting urban stage play “Grown Man Issues” .
The production is infused with rhythmic grooves of both R&B and Soul. Among the star-studded cast is celebrated actor Brian White known for his work Ambitions (2019), Stomp the Yard (2007) and BET’s new series “The Black Hamptons. Joining this epic ensemble and making her theatrical debut is renowned Legendary R&B Diva, LaTocha of the multi-platinum group Xscape.
Carter, played by Willie Taylor of Day 26 and former cast member of VH1’s Love and Hip Hop Hollywood, wants a chance… a chance to be his own man with the woman he loves and has married. He is adamant not to be dependent on her success. Instead, he wants to create the life he’s always wanted for the both of them. A future greatly different from his past. She has degrees and beauty, and he has a past with rough edges. They are, nevertheless, a loving pair. Just as he thought he’d found the break he’d been looking for, he’s confronted with yesterday’s problems. What is he to do when his intentions are honorable and his devotion is genuine, yet his past refuses to let him move on?
The production is infused with Rhythmic poetry and “Grown Man Conversations”. Hilarious comedy fills the production as the ensemble tackles an array of what can only be described as “Grown Man Issues”
