In 2002, RiverCenter opened its doors with a bold promise — that the arts belong in Columbus, Georgia. Built as the centerpiece of the unprecedented Columbus Challenge, an extraordinary public-private fundraising effort that raised more than $100 million, RiverCenter stands today as the cultural anchor the community dreamed it would be. Over the past 25 years, it has hosted world-class performances, nurtured local talent, and brought people together countless times, shaping the social and artistic life of our region.
On May 22, 2027, we will gather for the 25th Anniversary Gala to celebrate this remarkable legacy and reflect on all we’ve built together — while looking ahead to the next chapter of artistic excellence and community enrichment.
