Special Pre-Show Talk and Demonstration
Join Karyn Tomczak, the Vicki Jiles Flanagan Distinguished Chair in Dance at Columbus State University, and members of the CSU dance program for a special pre-show talk and demonstration about Cinderella. The talk will be held in the Studio Theater at 6:30 p.m. FREE!
After an extensive nationwide search, Karyn Tomczak was chosen to hold the CSU Distinguished Faculty Chair in Dance. Tomczak received her Master’s Degree in Dance Education from Skidmore College in New York and served as Director of Dance at Western Carolina University for six years, where she was awarded Dance Teacher Magazine’s 2014 Dance Teacher Award in Higher Education for her outstanding achievements for the advancement of dance curriculum.. Tomczak boasts a strong professional performance background, performing on Broadway and touring across the U.S. and internationally in shows including 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, Will Rogers Follies, Sugar Babies and others. She also performed as a Radio City Rocket for six years, and her choreographic credits include The Drowsy Chaperone, Grease, Guys and Dolls, Anything Goes, Little Shop of Horrors, A Chorus Line and 42nd Street, just to name a few.
